Taste of Canada in West Villa Restaurants

Hong Kong, March 21, 2013 – The Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao, in partnership with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Canada Beef International Institute, is pleased to announce a Canadian Menu Promotion at three West Villa (Group) Restaurants in Hong Kong. The Michelin-Recommended traditional Cantonese restaurants will feature a range of quality Canadian food ingredients in various Chinese-styled dishes through a special promotional menu until April 30, 2013.

“Canada’s food and agriculture products are as diverse as its land, its people and its seasons; From the finest livestock, raised in a clean, natural environment and nourished to produce the best meat available, to the fish and seafood products, harvested from some of the cleanest, most pristine waters in the world and internationally renowned for their variety, quality and value,” said Consul General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao, J. Ian Burchett. “Canada exported HK$5.9 billion worth of agri-food products to Hong Kong in 2012, a 26% increase compared to the previous year, and a trend we would like to see continue.”

West Villa (Group) has developed a wide selection of Chinese dishes using the freshest and finest Canadian ingredients to tantalize the taste buds of local consumers. Meat lovers may want to try the Sautéed Canadian Beef Cute with Assorted Mushroom in Black Truffle Sauce, Braised Canadian Rib Finger, Stir-fried Canadian Beef Tenderloin Strips with Pickled Gingers and Pineapples, and Sautéed Canadian Sliced Pork Cheek with Pumpkin. The Steamed Canadian Dungeness Crab, Sautéed Spicy Canadian Blue Mussels, and Double-boiled Canadian Organic Cornish Hen with Geoduck Broth are perfect fusions of Canadian seafood served in Chinese dishes. Served with your choice of cooking method, the Canadian Geoduck is another highlight on the menu that will delight every food lover.
