Ning Feng violin Two reasons for celebration in one concert: we salute National Day, and toast the arrival of new Music Director Jaap van Zweden. To begin his tenure he has chosen two young, dynamic musicians – violinist Ning Feng, whose HKPO début was rapturously received in 2011, returns with the iconic Butterfly Lovers Concerto. Conrad Tao is making his name both as a piano virtuoso and a composer. He appears as pianist later this year – by invitation, he has composed a fanfare work for these concerts. Completing the programme, Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. The van Zweden era begins. To purchase the discounted tickets, please fax the completed form to 2311 4910 on or before 14 September, 5pm.
